Location and city searches

If you allow location access, Solis uses your device's coordinates to show local sun times and schedule the alerts you choose. It can refresh that location as iOS provides updates. You can use a city you choose manually without granting location access.

City searches use Apple's MapKit services. Solis also uses Apple's geocoding services to find a city name or time zone from coordinates. These requests send search text or coordinates to Apple, along with the technical information needed to handle the request. They do not pass through a server operated by me.

Apple handles these requests under its privacy policy and Maps privacy notice.

Information on your device

Solis stores your latest location, selected city, recent saved places, time zone information, and preferences on your device. Preferences include your theme, time format, and notification settings. The app and its widget share this local storage so they can show the same information.

Solis does not upload this data to me or operate an account or cloud sync service. Your device backups may include app data, depending on your Apple settings.

Notifications

If you enable alerts, Solis calculates their times and schedules local notifications on your device. It does not use a remote push notification service. You can turn alerts off in Solis or disable notification permission in iOS Settings.

Website visits

The Solis website does not use advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or tracking cookies. Fonts and images are served with the site.

The website's hosting provider may process standard request information, such as your IP address, browser details, requested pages, and request times, to deliver and secure the site. Hosting records are retained according to the provider's operational and legal requirements. You can contact me with questions about these records or to request deletion of information associated with your visit.

When you contact me

If you email me, I receive your email address and anything you include in your message. I use that information to respond and handle your request. My email provider processes the correspondence to deliver and store it.

I keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle the request and meet any legal obligations. You can ask me to delete it using the contact address below.

Your choices and deleting data

You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Location Services → Solis. Revoking permission stops new location access but does not erase places already stored on your device.

To remove Solis's local app data, delete the app from your device. Offloading the app keeps its data. Copies in device backups may remain until you delete those backups using Apple's backup controls.

I cannot access or delete the data stored on your device. For information you have sent to me, you can request access, correction, or deletion by email.

Changes to this policy

If Solis's privacy practices change, I will update this page and its date. Material changes that require permission will be presented before the relevant data is used.
